Ready to book a vacation rental of your own?

Whether its an adventure in Southern Utah's red rocks, or relaxing at the beach in Mexico, we've got you covered.

St. George is Southern Utah's outdoor recreation capital — gateway to Zion National Park, Snow Canyon State Park, and Sand Hollow Reservoir, with over a dozen golf courses and 300+ days of sunshine per year. But it's also a real city with distinct neighborhoods, each offering a different vacation rental experience. A family looking for a pool and waterslides needs a very different rental than a couple planning daily hikes or a group booking a golf trip.

This guide matches each area of St. George to the type of trip you're planning, so you book the right property in the right location. For Families With Kids: Desert Color / The Shores Resort

If your trip revolves around keeping kids happy, Desert Color is the answer. The community's heated 2.5-acre lagoon with sandy beaches gives kids a "beach day" in the middle of the desert. Add in resort pools, lazy rivers, waterslides, and pickleball courts, and you have a destination where kids are entertained even on rest days between park visits.

Rental homes here are newer and larger — 3 to 8 bedrooms, many with private hot tubs and game rooms. You're 15 minutes from Sand Hollow (a reservoir with boating, swimming, and ATV dunes) and 50 minutes from Zion.

What to look for: A large vacation home with pool access, close to the lagoon, sleeping 10+. Book for a long weekend and let the resort amenities do the heavy lifting.

For Hikers and National Park Visitors: Coral Canyon / Entrada Area

If your primary goal is Zion, Snow Canyon, or trail access, the northwest side of St. George puts you closest to the best trailheads. Coral Canyon borders Snow Canyon State Park — you can be on a trail in minutes. Entrada at Snow Canyon is even closer, sitting at the park's mouth.

The northwest corridor also puts you on the fastest route to Zion's main entrance (via UT-9 through Hurricane and Springdale), shaving 10–15 minutes off the drive compared to the south side of town.

What to look for: A 3-bedroom home in Coral Canyon with mountain views. Hike Snow Canyon in the morning, recover by the community pool in the afternoon.

For Golfers: Entrada, Bloomington, or Coral Canyon

St. George has over a dozen golf courses playable year-round, and the red rock scenery makes several of them nationally ranked. The three best areas for golf-focused trips are Entrada at Snow Canyon (Johnny Miller–designed private course, with guest access for some rentals), Bloomington Country Club (semi-private, affordable green fees), and Coral Canyon Golf Course (public, stunning red rock backdrop).

Many vacation rentals in these communities are literally on or adjacent to the courses. Tee times are easy to book outside of peak spring weekends.

What to look for: A home overlooking Coral Canyon's fairways. Wake up, walk to the first tee, and never sit in traffic.

For Large Groups and Reunions: Coral Canyon

Large groups need space, bedrooms, and shared amenities — and St. George delivers better than most vacation rental markets for this. Desert Color has homes sleeping 16–30+ guests, and Paradise Village offers waterpark-style pool complexes with lazy river and waterslides.

Verity Rentals' luxury townhome in Coral Canyon is built for exactly this kind of trip — 6 bedrooms, sleeps 20, with a private pool, hot tub, rooftop deck, and mountain views. It's adjacent to the Coral Canyon Golf Course and 45 minutes from Zion, so your group can split between hikers and golfers without anyone feeling left out. It's also dog-friendly — a rare find for a property this size.

For Couples and Quiet Getaways: Downtown or Green Valley

If you want a slower pace — morning coffee, a good restaurant, a hike, a spa — downtown St. George or Green Valley is the move. Downtown puts you walking distance to Ancestor Square restaurants, the art museum, and the historic district. Green Valley is home to one of the top-rated wellness spas in the Southwest, with hiking and biking trails accessible from most neighborhoods.

What to look for: A 2-bedroom condo or casita in Green Valley. Hike in the morning, spa in the afternoon, dinner downtown.

For Snowbirds and Long-Stayers (1+ Month)

St. George is one of the most popular snowbird destinations in the western U.S. — winter highs in the 50s–60s°F, abundant sunshine, and a strong community of seasonal residents. Monthly rentals are widely available, with rates typically 40–60% lower than nightly pricing. Green Valley, Bloomington, and older parts of town have the most long-term inventory.

What to look for: A furnished condo with a kitchen, laundry, and garage. Ask about monthly rates — most owners are flexible from November through March.
